Screen resolution

Hello,
here  I again,

Jonathan was right, it was a memory problem caused by the
DISPLAY_DEFAULT_DEPTH =24

That was too much for my 2 MB graphic cards.

I edited dexconf in folder /opt/ltsp/i386/usr/bin

DISPLAY_DEFAULT_DEPTH="$RET"

and changed it to

DISPLAY_DEFAULT_DEPTH=16

There should be a better way, but I recommended that I have difficulties
to understand the scripts.
Can someone tell me where does dexconf fetch the information about color
depth?

Perhaps someone should write a better information how
to produce higher screen resolution by setting down the color depth in
the wiki. The thinclients regulary are not so equipped like the server,
are they?

So I have solved my first problem!

Another question:

Can someone tell/inform me and also others edubuntus which entries in
lts.conf (opt/ltsp/i386/etc) are read and are processed by the
ltsp-MueKow-version?

Example
[Default] XKBLAYOUT         = "de"

[192.168.0.25]
	X_COLOR_DEPTH    =16
	X_MODE_0 = 640X480
	X_VIDEORAM = 2048

The client 192.168.0.25 won´t start here in 640x480!
Could I make working entries for different monitors in lts.conf, because
dexconf writes 60 Hz for a generic monitor?

Reiner Schmid

Thanks for read it!
