I used rsync to backup with K12LTSP...

At last I've found time to switch from K12LTSP to Edubuntu for my
home/office network, and I've run into a problem with my old backup
regime.
Basically, the server has two hard drives in removable trays: /dev/hda
& /dev/hdc. With K12LTSP installed, it ran a nightly rsync script to
copy changes from /dev/hda1 to /dev/hdc1. Then, in the event
that /dev/hda becomes unreadable (which did happen!) I was able to
simply replace /dev/hda with /dev/hdc, and the system boots.
OK, so I lost a day's work, so I implemented another script to rsync
the /home directory every 30 minutes or so.
Now, with Edubuntu, switching the hard drives is problematic.
Evidently, /dev/hdc is identified as such, and it's not happy being
inserted in place of /dev/hda.
There must be a simple solution! Or is it time to install both discs as
a RAID device ?
With thanks for any advice,
John
