After reading the issue I decided to try a larger timeout. I set it to 
10 seconds, and now the thin client boots up correctly, and I can see 
the login screen.

I can't login, but this looks like an X problem (screen goes black and 
then takes me back to the login screen). I'll try using a different 
monitor tomorrow or something.
