As a workaround, please try this:
- Edit /opt/ltsp/i386/usr/share/initramfs-tools/scripts/nfs
- Change the line "sleep 3" to "sleep 5"
- sudo chroot /opt/ltsp/i386 dpkg-reconfigure linux-image-2.6.12-7-386
- sudo ltsp-update-kernels
and then boot the thin client.
