Hello,

I'm a new subscriber, but not new to Linux. My school has long been using
K12LTSP....I've contributed a bit here and there....in fact I was the one
who "pushed" TeacherTool onto K12LTSP. (I did not develop it....I made
some really small tweaks....sent it to Eric Harrison....he tweaked it more
and added it to K12LTSP) I've also been working with Matt Oquist (a
Canonical contractor who works on the OpenCD "orchard" stuff) on the
smbldap-installer (http://www.vcsvikings.org/linux/smbldap) and we also
hosted the Northeast Linux Symposium as well (http://www.nelinux.net) I
consider myself a local Linux ambassador :-)
http://web.vcs.u52.k12.me.us/linux/article.pdf I'm not only an IT guy,
but I'm also a classroom teacher (Grades K-8) which allows me to have
greater insight as to how K12LTSP and so forth can better meet the needs
of students in the classrooms. Anyway...that's me....I'm interested in
learning more about you all and how I might be able to help. I'm a BIG
fan of Ubuntu and am excited about the prospect of EdUbuntu....

My interests?

TeacherTool....or TeachersPet
Documentation
Lesson development
Public Relations...marketing :-)
beta testing in a real school environment

Really interested in Samba/LDAP on Ubuntu as it has fantastic implications
in schools....I currently use it....one server to house the users and
their home dirs.....and all other servers Windows, K12LTSP...etc.
authenticate to it. One login for the kids...one home directory
regardless of platform.
