However in this case you seem to be applying for permission to make<br>
unsupervised changes to packages in Ubuntu itself. To protect Ubuntu<br>
users, we only allow this after a person has established a track record<br>
of making quality *supervised* uploads to Ubuntu first.<br>

The effect would be the same - you could maintain these packages in<br>
Ubuntu this way - only you'd need to work with an experienced mentor<br>
until you have established a track record.<br>

I suggest you start by preparing an initial set of *small* packaging<br>
updates that you want to make, and then finding a sponsor for them. See<br>
