Given that Martin is effectively voluntarily giving up core dev and
asking for a narrower set, I don't think we need to go to a formal
application or application meeting, and I think I'm +1 unless others
come up with a good reason that I should reconsider. Tonight's DMB
meeting seems short notice, but perhaps we can add an agenda item for
the next one (2025-03-31 16:00 UTC) so that everyone can consider and
agree but without requiring Martin's presence? If most people on the DMB
reply here then we can make a decision sooner, too.
We don't re-test existing core devs against our current application
standards, so I don't think there's any need to do anything more formal
here.
Looking at the bigger picture, I also think this would pass the "smell
test".
