Hello Developer Membership Board,
Many of you may remember Martin Pitt. He was an absolutely instrumental figure in Ubuntu during his time in the project.
This may be inaccurate (it's been almost a decade, the details are fuzzy), but I remember being able to credit pitti with much of the original autopkgtest work.
Based on public information I can see, he now works on Cockpit, and submitted a PPU application for that, allowing his Core Developer rights to expire: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/MartinPitt/PPUApplication
I see zero reason why Martin should have to:
1. Wait for a regular meeting for PPU, when he only held Core Developer recently.
2. Be blocked in his work; we should welcome him back with open arms.
I'm interested in the wider DMB opinion on this before acting, but formally, my vote is +1 on *immediately* granting pitti PPU. I've also endorsed the application as such.
Warm regards,
