Hi,
I'd like to help update packagesets related to Ubuntu Desktop so here
is my initial list:
1. Remove ubuntugnome
https://code.launchpad.net/~jbicha/+git/packageset/+merge/475909
2. Remove the only Edubuntu exception:
https://code.launchpad.net/~jbicha/+git/packageset/+merge/475908
I think we would want to have at least something in the Edubuntu
packageset, even though currently the only Edubuntu Developer is a
MOTU and everything in the packageset would be in universe. I suggest
using edit-acl to add gnome-shell-extension-alphabetical-grid .
Someone could come up with a longer list later.
3. Remove desktop-extra
No merge request. The desktop-extra set doesn't match its definition.
There are several packages that aren't in Ubuntu main that are part of
core GNOME (as determined by GNOME). There are a much larger number of
packages that are associated with GNOME but not part of core GNOME. I
think it is fine for these packages to be uploadable by people with
MOTU permissions. Most of the GNOME associated packages that are not
in Ubuntu main are packaged in Debian without Ubuntu-specific changes
and autosync works fine until Debian Import Freeze.
desktop-extra was an old packageset that was adjusted years ago to
basically be a supplemental set for Ubuntu GNOME developers.
Therefore, please remove the desktop-extra packageset.
For reference, here is the set:

Thank you,
