I'm +1, by contributing directly to Debian for the most part, it's just not
been as obvious to look at the contributions to evaluate for core-dev.

I've sponsored some uploads for Balint and they were all high-quality,
despite us having some different views of how best to fix some things,
everything has always been of high technical quality.
