I have had concerns with one of the MIR requests from Jeremy, where there
was a question of getting pcre2 into main instead of pcre3 (pcre2 is the
newest rewrite...). This is apparently required for vte / gnome-terminal,
and possibly other things. I'm satisfied with Jeremy's handling of this
situation (which admittedly was something specific to MIRs meaning that we
would sign up to provide security support for the packages, where more pcre
means potentially a lot more work for the Security Team); where we had to
do a fair amount of communication across teams as to the planning of that
specific transition.
Jeremy has shown a lot of good work in Ubuntu and his contributions are
very welcome; I do agree that aiming for better communication with other
people in the community; that are involved in the packages that he is
touching, would be a great improvement for an already excellent developer.
I'm +1 on this application.
/ Matt
