I can concur. After adding the xpenguin app, the panel keeps crashing
with:

(gnome-panel:9429): GConf-WARNING **: Directory
`/apps/panel/toplevels/bottom_panel_screen1/screen' was not being
monitored by GConfClient 0x80ca448

(gnome-panel:9429): GConf-WARNING **: Directory
`/apps/panel/toplevels/top_panel_screen1/screen' was not being monitored
by GConfClient 0x80ca448

(gnome-panel:9429): Gtk-WARNING **: gtk_widget_size_allocate(): attempt
to allocate widget with width -12 and height 24

** ERROR **: file orbit-object.c: line 149 (do_unref): assertion failed: (robj->refs < ORBIT_REFCOUNT_MAX && robj->refs > 0)
