Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: totem

When using totem (gstreamer backend) with no sound card installed to play a video file, the progress bar advances faster then normal and reaches the end.
Video plays normally. The notification that there is no sound card works properly.
Tried it with vmware with no sound card using the example video files (ogg theora) and other videos (mpg etc) and problem occurs. When a sound card is present the progress bar works correctly.
I assume it is synchronized by audio so this problem occurs.

** Affects: totem (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: Unconfirmed
