Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-volume-manager

The keyboard shortcuts on my asus A6tc don't control the right gauge. As
matter of fact, they low or high the gauge "line-in" instead of highing
or lowing (?) the pcm gauge.

This problem didn't exist on ubuntu edgy. The device that use gnome-
volume-manager is HDA NVidia (alsa mixer).
