[Bug 93522] how to delete windows-list applet (7.04 alpha 2.18.0 gnome))

Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-panel

i added windows-list applet to the top panel and cannot delete it. the
regular drop down menu for applets, which includes the '- delete from
panel' is not shown (because another drop down menu for navigation to
the window is shown). i do not see a method to delete it...
