[Bug 92293] gnome panel unresponsive after gimp

I am fairly new to unbuntu and have never had to report a bug before,
please forgive any missteps...

I am running 6.10 (edgy) on the following hardware:

- INTEL Pentium D 3.4GHz Dual Core 945
- GIGABYTE GA-945P-S3 motherboard
- 4GB DDR-2-667 RAM
- 256MB nVIDIA GE GORCE 7300GS video card
- WD 250GB STAT II HDs

After running GIMP (always) and the default image viewer (sometimes),
the GNOME panels become unresponsive. Otherwise all seems fine, until I
try to edit/view images....

I've googled and searched the forums, but cannot find a solution.

Please advise, if more info is needed.
