Public bug reported:

Trying out the 6.10 live cd for ppc32 on an ibook. The standard
autodetect went well and system came up in 800x600 mode.

The system->preferences->screen resolution only offered a choice of
640x480 and 800x600 modes.

As per the ubuntu troubleshooting documents, I went to edit the xorg
conf file but found it already included the 1024x768 mode.

>From some advice on the ubuntu irc channel I tried to remove all
resolutions except the 1024x768 mode, and restarted xorg, but this had
no effect on the situation.

The screen resolution preferences should either follow the xorg conf
file or offer their own method of controlling allowed modes.

** Affects: control-center (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: Unconfirmed
