[Bug 80745] accelerator keys gets 2 chars instead of one

Public bug reported:

After latest update (gtk 2.10.8), my accelerator chars (in menus) are
wrong, showing 2 chars underlined, instead of just one.

This happens with all gtk applications.

I'll attach a screenshot.
