Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: sound-juicer

Hi,

I have set up a GNOME audio profile to encode my MP3s (which I rip using
Sound Juicer) as 80kbps ABR. When I play these (for example, but not
exclusively) using Rhythmbox, they show an incorrect track length. I
have older MP3s which I ripped using jack+lame (on Debian, not Ubuntu)
which display the length correctly. I note bug #63851, but since I am
using different packages and having read the history of that bug I'm not
sure it's the same.

The GStreamer pipeline for this audio profile is:

audio/x-raw-int,rate=44100,channels=2 ! lame name=enc vbr=abr vbr-mean-
bitrate=80 ! id3mux

I've raised this against Sound Juicer since that's at the 'start' of the
ripping process, but I can imagine the bug (if there is one; I'm not
GStreamer expert and may have missed something important from that
pipeline) is actually in GStreamer, lame or something else - I hope you
can re-assign appropriately if so.

Thanks.

Steve
