I forgot to mention that one of the two partitions is encrypted with cryptsetup (/dev/sdb2). This disk worked on Dapper and Edgy on the same computer. -- USB mass storage (ata hard disk) does not get mounted automaticly when hotplugged https://launchpad.net/bugs/73757
