Since the error message is "insufficient resources", it might be worth
checking how much memory is available on the system (both swap and
physical).  It could also be due to inability to allocate video memory.
Could you attach the output of lshw?

Could you also attach the /var/log/Xorg.0.log file right after
generating this error?  It might have a more meaningful error message in
it.
