Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: rhythmbox

The quality of my internet connection has decreased a lot in the recent
weeks, and often it takes quite a while (a few seconds up to a minute or
more !) to buffer. I noticed that the GUI is very often (might well be
always actually) COMPLETELY unresponsive during this phase, and there is
no way to cancel the operation : either I wait 10 minutes for the radio
stream to respond, or I have to "kill" RB to regain control. Obviously I
rarely have the patience to wait forever, so I really most of the time
HAVE to kill it !

Expected behaviour: when waiting for a radio (or any network resource
really), the GUI must remain 100% responsive and it should be possible
to cancel the buffering operation instantly, anytime, simply by hitting
the "Escape" key on the keyboard, or pressing some very visible "cancel"
button somewhere. The user/program should never be at the mercy of
external resources.

Just like a web broswer for example, that remains perfectly responsive
even if the remote server takes forever to serve the a web page.

** Affects: rhythmbox (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: Unconfirmed
