[Bug 87990] gdm splash screen wont disappear, until you open a window.

Public bug reported:

this problem started after my regular update, when i receive a new gdm
splash screen. Since then every time i boot up my ubuntu feisty fawn
herd 4, the splash theme stays on the desktop (during loading of
applications) until i open a window or any other application it wont
disappear. I dont have this problem when i install feisty fawn, but
after updating i notice it, when i switch to gnome session from xfce or
if i start or restart and login to gnome session. i tried to switch to
another gdm splash screen, but i cant find settings for it.
