by GNOME capplet I'm assuming you mean in System->Preferences->Keyboard?

Generic 105 key (intl.) PC
with a United Kingdom layout.

I should add however that all my multi-media keys work (at least the default ones like volume up, down, mute, etc... ).
What doesn't work is if I try and set new ones (Play, Stop, Forward, etc ).

More details in comment #2. IE my 1st comment on this bug, which was
made after my bug was marked a duplicate of this one (perhaps in error?)
