if that's a crash and banshee does the same that's probably a gstreamer problem. Could you get a backtrace with:
- gdb gst-launch-0.10
(gdb) run playbin uri=file:///path/to/music
... get the crash
(gdb) thread apply all

The mp3 might be useful, does it has some sort of copyright?
