*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 66637 ***
Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: gparted
I installed feisty herd3 yesterday, and although the install went good (everything in the long test list is a go), I had hibernate issues under edgy after that.
Basically, this is a duplicate of bug 66637, with the same symptoms:
- I had a swap partition for use under edgy
- I installed feisty herd3 and decided to use the same swap
- gparted's default is to re-format the swap partition, and I followed the default
- This re-assigned a UUID to my swap partition
- back into edgy, edgy did not recognized my swap partition
- I had to follow the recipe in 66637 to restore swap and hibernate
functionality (i.e. modify the fstab entry with the UUID from vol_id,
modify /etc/initramfs/conf.d/resume and run update-initramfs -u).
So nothing new in here, but what happened with this issue under edgy in 66637 is still around.
And sorry, it's not really a gparted bug, I know. feel free to re-assign.
** Affects: gparted (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
Status: Unconfirmed
** This bug has been marked a duplicate of bug 66637
After running mkswap, swap space is discarded, system fails to hibernate (invalid swap signature)
** Description changed:
