Here is the behavior that I get. Everything else being equal, the
indicator crashes when I add the standard US English layout to the list
of layouts. The output of xprop -root | grep XKB when it does crash is
the following:

_XKB_RULES_NAMES(STRING) = "xorg", "pc105", "ca,ro,us", "multix,std,",
"lv3:ralt_switch,grp:alts_toggle"

when it does not crash, it's

_XKB_RULES_NAMES(STRING) = "xorg", "pc105", "ca,ro", "multix,std",
"lv3:ralt_switch,grp:alts_toggle"

Note that if I select one of the variants of the US English layouts
(such as US-Intl, for instance), the indicator applet does not crash.
I'm posting the crash report, but no debugging symbols, sorry (if it's
needed, will do it).

Thanks!
