Another unusual symptom is that When in the location "smb:///", each
time I press ctrl-R or click the reload button, the icons representing
the different workgroups switch between blank, filled with text, and the
proper workgroup icon, but not all at the same time, so some will be
blank, some will be filled with text, and some might be correct.
