Seems to work fine in edgy ... but I'm not sure if this will
automatically filter down to dapper because its part of the new gnome
.... for the backtrace try the following:

gdb gnome-background-properties

then type "run" in gdb

do whatever you did to make it crash, i.e. click on "add wallpaper"

then after it crashes type "bt" in gdb

I think that should get you a backtrace, but I don't know how useful it
will be since its compiled without debugging
