It's Dapper, and gnome-terminal is 2.14.2. I'm not sure what the update
was from, but I thought it might be the recent freetype update. I update
pretty regularly; at least once a week.

Unfortunately (or fortunately, dpending on your outlook), the problem
has mysteriously dissappeared. I did some more updates this morning, but
they all had to do with mysql. When I just brought up gnome-terminal to
check the version, it was working fine. Go figure.
