I have this problem as well. Things were fine on Dapper with the nvidia binary drivers, but on Edgy (again with "nvidia" drivers) this bug occurs for me, both on Totem and gXine. -- Color Balance settings have no effect on the output https://launchpad.net/bugs/34659
