[Bug 68044] Many missing icons in Edgy

Public bug reported:

There are many many icons missing in Edgy:

1) update-manager's icon in taskbar is gone (sometimes update-manager
brings up a yellow balloon telling me that I need to click on its icon
to reboot etc., but the arrow is pointing at a blank space where the
icon should be).

2) If I right-click on a panel and choose "Add to panel", the window that appears misses icons for:
- Clock
- Deskbar
- Dictionary Look up
- Fish
- Geyes
- Sticky Notes
- Drawer
- Force Quit
- Window List
- Window Selector
- Workspace Switcher
- Modem Monitor
- Volume Control
- Notification Area
- Run Application
- Separator

3) This may be related: if I launch "gedit <filename>" from the console,
I get the following error:

** Affects: human-icon-theme (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: Unconfirmed
