I have tried to reproduce it but I don't have a step by step guide to
reproduce it, sorry.

But the conflict between the main menu "View->Hide read messages" and
the Show list selector widget in the message view is trivial to check
and see the bug.

As I have said, if I reproduce the search problem in a step by step
manner I will report it.
