Hi. Thanks for your bug report.

Maybe this is an issue related to gaim, not gnome-panel.

By the way, have you tried disable tabs in gaim? (one window for each
conversation). Try it in gaim preferences window.

Another thing you can try is check the notify plugin. Verify all options
you have checked in that plugin.
