I can confirm this for gnome-panel(-dbg) 2.16.1-0ubuntu3 and xmms-status-plugin 1.0.0-3. The distro is the release candidate of Edgy. The bugreport goes as attached. 
The bug seems to be related with the balloon popup. But that could just be a side effect.
