Paul, thank you very much for your response.
As I mentioned in the report showing command line in a tooltip is not
enough for me.
Here is my use case - I develop Java software. Java program is launched
by calling java executable and passing name of the class to run, paths
to libraries, configuration options as command-line parameters. As
result command line can become really HUGE. During development I
frequently have big number of java processes running at the same time -
IDE, build system, application server, tools, etc. All these processes
have name "java". This does not help me very much to distinguish them
:-) I have to use command lines for this.
I would really like possibility to copy command line into clipboard. This would help me:
1) compare two different Java launches by putting them side-by-side in text editor. Command lines can be so long that even if system monitor shows it completely it is difficult to find information I need.
2) launch java process by executing the command manually. This is useful for debugging, checking whether all the libraries are in place, etc.
Sure, I know how to use "ps" to get the information I need :-)
Just want to make system monitor more useful.
Feedback and bug reports is what I can currently contribute back to the distribution.
I have Edgy. dpkg output:
ii gnome-system-m 2.16.1-0ubuntu Process viewer and system resource
monitor
Let me know if you need more information,
Andriy
