The problem is that ubuntu doesn't add a gstreamer plugin that can
handle mp3 by default.  If you install gstreamer0.10-fluendo-mp3 from
the debian distro it will work (I can never figure out how to tell if
that's in Universe or Multiverse).

I tried gstreamer0.8.mad, but it doesn't seem to work with
gstreamer0.10.
