i forgot to attach my grub's menu.lst. here it is, if it might help!
my /etc/fstab is as follow:

proc            /proc           proc    defaults        0       0
# /dev/hda2
UUID=4f53bf01-a937-4421-879b-38dcf7087265 /               reiserfs notail          0       1
/dev/mapper/isilvm-ubuome /home           reiserfs defaults        0       2
# /dev/hda3
UUID=0bae7ad9-3271-45af-8256-28694eb016e1 none            swap    sw              0       0
/dev/hdb        /media/cdrom0   udf,iso9660 user,noauto     0       0

should i replace the entries in the menu.lst by their uuid ??
