For edgy

Since the huge 108 package update 10-12 hrs. ago 1 package being gedit I
cannot gksudo gedit

gedit loads gedit /etc/fstab works, but gksudo gedit /etc/fstab just
generates a (gedit:5023): GnomeUI-WARNING **: While connecting to
session manager:

Authentication Rejected, reason : None of the authentication protocols
specified are supported and host-based authentication failed.

Then when I gksudo gedit /etc/X11/xorg.conf it loads up gedit and sits
there grayed out clicking close generates a The window "xorg.conf
(/etc/X11) - gedit" is not responding.
