Oh ok. That solves the problem. In dapper I had run a script that was

Since Edgy has firefox 2 already, I then undid the script as described
in post 3 of this HOWTO. However the gconf key you refer to reads:

/opt/firefox/firefox "%s"

Which is still pointing to the old (and now non-existing) Firefox 2 that
I instaleld with the script. Should the sudo aptitude reinstall firefox
firefox-gnome-support have changed this over?
