[Bug 72649] Unresponsive windows (Freeze)

Windows become unresponsive, I can no longer change windows, or interact with the desktop. I can still move my mouse and the programs continue to work. I use the system monitor applet, and when it happens, it continues to work (repaint), and CPU usage is not abnormally high.
It's like I selected something and can't deselect it. If I move the cursor, sometimes text is getting selected.

if I control-alt-F<number> and then change back to display 7, the
problem is solved.

When: Every few hours I have this problem. Ever since dapper, upgraded
to edgy now.

I know this is very cryptic, I have no idea how to provide a log for
this.
