[Bug 69036] Enabling Italian as the default language prevents Nautilus desktop from working in Edgy

Public bug reported:

To reproduce:
1. Install Italian language support for Edgy.
2. Set Italian as the default language.
3. Logout and log back in.

The symptom: instead of desktop icons appearing, one or more Nautilus
windows open for the user's home folder.

         Status: Unconfirmed
