Public bug reported:

Sometimes gvim, gedit, gnome terminal, and firefox do not reponse to
keyboard inputs. When the problem occurs, the application does not
response to text input, but the menu item can still be accessed via
keyboard, and the window manager still responses to keyboard events. The
problems occur ocasionally, independent of the applications (i.e. when I
can't input the URL in firefox, another gvim instance may work perfectly
at the same time). Sometimes closing the affected application and then
reopen it solves the problem; sometimes the problem still exists.

I'm using Ubuntu 5.10.

** Affects: gtk+2.0 (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Medium
         Status: Needs Info
