[Bug 69871] No drives detected

Public bug reported:

Using the live 6.10 Edgy CD I boot perfectly fine. I try to install to
the local drive. The partition step only has one option "Manually edit
partition table". No other options. After continuing past this, I
realize that no drives are detected at all.

There should be 2 SATA drives detected running in non-raid
configuration.

There is no /dev/sd* files

dmesg shows 2 SATA drives
