Seems to be due to a distro patch, comment from upstream:

"I've been investigating, and it seems an ubuntu specific problem, I've been
having a look at your gksudo + shares-admin nautilus extension patch, and it
seems to be messing with quotation marks, try putting the path between
apostrophes (') and it should work fine."
