[Bug 46252] syncing with Tungsten E2 does not work

Public bug reported:

Following the wizard (with defaults, except switching serial to usb) in
gnome-pilot gets up to "insert hotsync cable and press hotsync button"
then nothing happens.

dmesg reports the following, the Palm is seen and drivers loaded for it.

/dev/pilot points to ttyUSB1
