Running this with gdb, I can see that the euid is already 1000 (my user)
and it is set to the same value (1000). If I set a breakpoint before
this happens, for instance at "gnome_vfs_add_module_to_hash_table", and
manually run "print seteuid(1000)", the select freaks out. (I don't
understand this.)
