[Bug 44523] abiword eats memory (possible OOM) and hangs when opening PDFs

Description of the problem:
On my dapper install pressing the right mouse button over a PDF shows Open with "Abiword Word Processor" in the Open With menu. Attempting to do this causes Abiword to stop updating its window and in certain cases can cause abiword to gobble up so much memory the OOM killer has to kill it.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Install abiword .
2. Press the right mouse button over a PDF in nautilus.
3. Choose Open with "Abiword Word Processor"

Expected results:
Not sure given the nature of PDFs. A best effort represenatation of the PDF as an editable document in abiword? Just the text and pictures and no formatting to appear? Abiword not to appear the menu for PDFs?  Progress bar?

Actual results:
abiword hangs for 10+ minutes opening even the smallest PDFs and on certain PDFs can bring out the OOM killer.
