[Bug 44280] crashed when using fullscreen

Public bug reported:

Running  eog /usr/share/example-content/ and pressing F11, PgUp and PgDn
for some time, it doesn't take long before eog crashes.

This could have to do with bug #43322, which also involves fullscreen,
but I am not sure. I can reproduce this without using slideshow. Dapper
up to date.
