but i do not think it is a duplicate.

the bug you are referring to concerns audio-players. ie. devices which come up as separate items.

i am talking about music which has been added manually to the library. regardless of whether or not it resides on a usb-harddrive.

i think it would be good to add an option to NOT check "manually added" music for changes....

should i write to the rhythmbox dev list or can you forward this idea?
